Kitulgala Day Tour

Jungle Trekking in the Kitulgala Rainforest

Embark on a thrilling jungle trek through the lush Kitulgala Rainforest, one of Sri Lanka’s most vibrant ecosystems nestled in the wet zone. This tropical paradise, home to the Makandawa Forest Reserve, bursts with biodiversity—spotting colourful birds, endemic reptiles, giant squirrels, and even elusive purple-faced langurs is part of the adventure.

As you weave through misty canopies, hidden waterfalls, and muddy forest trails, you’ll experience nature at its purest. Trekking can last from 1 to 4 hours, depending on your fitness level and curiosity. It’s ideal for nature lovers, photographers, and eco-adventurers looking to immerse themselves in the island’s untouched wildside.

White Water Rafting in Kitulgala

Brace yourself for a pulse-quickening white water rafting expedition on the Kelani River. Flowing past scenic jungle cliffs and rocky boulders, this river features Grade 2 and 3 rapids, perfect for both beginners and those seeking a bit of thrill.

With trained instructors and safety gear provided, the experience is both fun and secure. The rafting stretch is about 5km long, lasting around 90 minutes, with chances to jump into calmer pools, float, and truly enjoy the cool, fresh waters. Best done in the morning hours (8:00 AM – 11:00 AM), when the current is strong and the tropical heat hasn’t kicked in fully.
